Bôhten

I am so excited to share this brand with all of you. Glasses were never "my thing"; I used to only have one pair of sunglasses and one pair of boring reading glasses. However, since I like doing everything like my sister, I am now addicted to eye wear (although my collection will never come close to hers!).
Being a lover of clean and modern aesthetics, I was naturally drawn to this eye wear company after seeing them on Dragon's Den. After some research, I fell in love not only with their beautiful designs, but also with the story behind it all.

Nana Boateng Osei, founder of Bôhten, had the idea to use reclaimed material to manufacture this eco-luxury eye wear line. His inspiration is drawn from his Ghanaian roots. The manufacturing process begins with reclaimed wood and acetate harvested in the heart of West Africa. The eyeglasses are designed in Canada and handcrafted in a zero-waste facility (pretty awesome). This brand's mission is to develop a compost management initiative that reuses environmental reclaimed material (barley, wheat, straw and stone) to design their contemporary eyeglass line.

I really wanted to show how these glasses can easily be worn by women and men, and this particular pair are the perfect example. The Hanson glasses have slightly oversized and dark frames that give them an ultra hip vibe (but I must admit that my father beats me in the cool factor here). I like how Bôten's collection can fit a wide range of people, regardless of age or style. P.S Anyone else notice my father channelling his inner Walter White above?
Bôhten's story is so inspiring and just proves that dedication and hard work makes it all worth while.

I truly appreciate being able to collaborate with this awesome team and can't wait to see what they come up with next.

As a bonus, Bôhten is also offering le Closet readers 30% off on their entire online store. Simply use promo code LECLOSET30 (hurry, this offer only lasts 48 hours!)
