stripes and lace

Long lace pieces can appear more wedding appropriate at times but paired with a casual top can make all the difference. I bought this maxi skirt for my birthday as a little happy birthday to me gift but never ended up wearing it as the hot weather kept us in our swim suits all week end long. I did not put much thought into what I would pair this skirt with when purchased {which is never a good idea} but rather simply bought it as I love the feminine look.

When I finally did end up wearing it I decided it needed to be paired with something of contrast which is why I decided on stripes. The oversize nude belt is a nice way to tie everything together.
I love the idea of mixing patterns, even if low impact, and mixing different classic looks. Black and white stripes always work in a classic summer wardrobe and accompanied with white lace makes this a new favourite.
